We strongly believe in the saying “Adopt, Don’t Shop” and this includes adopting from ethical breeders in lieu of buying from pet shops. Pet shop hamsters often come from rodent mills, these mills cram hamsters into the smallest possible enclosures to ensure they can breed on a large scale and make the most money possible. Their conditions are sub par at best. If you are looking to add a hamster to your family please consider adopting from a rescue or from one of the following ethical breeders.
Mustachio Hamstery: Ethical breeder of Roborovski hamsters located in Toronto, Ontario. Visit their site here.
Hathor Hamstery: Ethical breeder of Syrian hamsters located in Guelph, Ontario. Visit their site here.
