S’Mores

Smores1Smores2

STATUS: AVAILABLE

SPECIES: Syrian

DOB (approx): July 2019

GENDER: Male

*veterinary reference required to adopt

S’mores’ Story:

Little S’mores was brought into a vet clinic when he was very ill, his previous owner was looking to euthanize but instead he was signed over to a friend of the rescue and given another chance. Our friend kept him over the weekend and nursed him back to health, we believe he had a hypoglycemic attack but once he was put on oxygen and given medication he slowly came back around.

Since this attack did come out of nowhere, it is possible it may happen again. He has had no issues the past 3 weeks while being at GCH, but his adopter will require a veterinary reference in order to take him home.

He is still a baby and getting used to handling, so he is a bit jumpy. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body though, he never even tries to nip. He loves his snacks! You can see him enjoying a tasty cookie in the second photo. He is a very active little guy! Loves his wheel and needs lots of fun toys to chew and keep him busy. You will never be bored with this little busy body around!

Penelope – CM Six Litter

IMG_0371

STATUS: AVAILABLE

SPECIES: Syrian

DOB: April 28, 2019

GENDER: Female

*SPECIAL NEEDS – behavioral; fearful hamster

Penelope’s Story:

Miss Penelope came from our CM Six rescue in Quebec. She and her sister, Baby Girl, were emaciated and dehydrated when we got them. Both girls weighed in at a shocking 26 grams at 4 weeks old! Since being at GCH she has steadily put on weight and become less fearful of humans. She is not a big fan of being handled and is very jumpy, we are still working on this with her but it is possible that she will never be interested in cuddles. Penelope needs a family who is patient and understands her boundaries. Previous hamster experience is a must.
